What really surprised us, though, was the amount of comfort we felt with it. As we thoroughly tested it on the streets, we found its arch support to be reliable as ever. The Kayano line has always provided a ton of support and this one isn’t any different. We found it to be a true marvel, exceeding our already steep expectations every step of the way. After testing the ASICS Gel Kayano 29 both in the lab and on our feet, we realized that it gave us everything we wanted, and then some! We looked for a well-built shoe with enough support and cushioning to make walking comfortable for people with flat feet. The best durable walking shoe for flat feet has a lot of ground to cover. So if you want a lightweight stability shoe, we cannot vouch for Adrenaline. In fact, it’s 10.1% heavier than average. On the other hand, Adrenaline GTS 22 isn’t the lightest. They are wider than averages by 3.4% and 7.6%. Our durometer reflected a midsole firmness of 43.5HA, which is higher than the average by 77.6%! The overpronators among us really enjoyed this level of firmness, along with the supportive tech, as it kept the feet definitely in line.Īdding to the stability are the wide forefoot and heel bases, which we measured as 116.3 mm and 96.6 mm, respectively. In addition to the shoe’s perfectness for flat feet is the supportive midsole. Punching in a 40.8N resistance, it is 28.3% stiffer than the average. As expected, Adrenaline hardly budged when we bent it using our digital force gauge. We discovered that the technology behind our more neutral strides is GuideRails, which is present both inside and outside of the shoe’s heel. This walking shoe has not only prevented us from overpronating but also stopped our ankles from too much inversion: allowing us to maintain a neutral gait while strolling all day long! Needless to say, it is also the best overpronation shoe that brought us phenomenal comfort. Our on-foot and in-the-lab tests emphasized how there is nothing like the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 when it comes to supporting flat feet.
